MARCH AWARD ASSEMBLIES
We are excited to celebrate our students’ hard work and achievements at the March Awards Assemblies, which will be held in the auditorium. Due to limited seating, invitations will be sent to the parents/guardians of students who will be receiving an award.
MARCH MADNESS - READING CONTEST
Our March Madness Reading Contest begins on March 9! Every Monday, students will get a reading log to complete at home and return the next Monday.
To complete the log, students must:
• Read every day (Monday–Sunday)
• Get a parent signature each day
• Complete their reading response(s)
Students can read books from home, from their book baggies, or on MyOn.
Extra points will be given to students with the most MyOn reading minutes. Let’s get reading!
Scholastic Book Fair – March 9–13
Students can explore and buy books from March 9–13. It’s a fun way to encourage reading and spark a love of learning! Parents are welcome to shop with their children on: Wednesday March 11 (7:30am-7:55am) & Thursday,March 12, (7:30am-7:50am )& (2:30pm - 3:00pm)
School Picture Day – March 31
School Picture Day will take place on March 31. Please have your child come to school dressed for success and ready to smile! *Picture order forms and additional details will be sent home.

NYC Testing Workshop

Parents are invited to attend this workshop to learn about the computer-based NYS ELA, Math, and Science tests.
Art & Cooking Family Workshops
PS 86 families are invited to join a fun after-school parent/student engagement activity.Registration is required. First come,first served!

Public Library Tour for Parents
Tuesday, March 17 | 11:00 a.m.
Join us for a visit to our neighborhood public library at 360 Irving Ave! Parents will enjoy a guided tour and learn about the many free resources available for the whole family, including books, digital materials, and programs.

Applications for Summer Rising 2026 open March 3, 2026. Summer Rising is a free, citywide enrichment program for NYC students in grades K-8, offering academic support, arts, recreation, and outdoor activities.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
There are two important parent surveys that we ask all families to complete: the NYC Schools 2026 Survey and the MAGNET Survey. Your feedback is extremely valuable and helps us improve our school programs and overall student experience.
Please stop by Ms. Cevallos’ office to pick up your survey. We appreciate your time and support in completing them. The child of every parent who returns a completed paper survey or submits proof of completing the survey online will have their child receive a ticket for a free ice cream treat!
