PICTURE DAY
Just a friendly reminder that picture day will be taking place at our school on Monday, March 10. Parents are unable to be present for their child’s photo shoot. Staff and the Parent Association present will make sure students are well groomed before they take their photo.

Dismissal for Kinder through 5th Grade will be at 11:15 AM.
All after-school programs are cancelled due to Parent- Teacher Conferences.
 
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES

Afternoon Session: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Evening Session: 4:30 – 7:30 PM
VIRTUAL CONFERENCES BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
Please make sure you have received a confirmed appointment from your child’s teacher and your login information. It’s important to log in to your appointment on time. 
 
PARENT NYC SURVEY 2025
The NYC School Surveys that are being completed and placed inside a green and white envelope needs, to be postmarked no later than Friday, April 4. You also have the choice to complete your NYC School Survey by logging into your child’s NYC Schools Account, where you will not need a code. Finally, you can access your survey by going online to NYCSchoolSurvey.org and completing it in the language of your preference. Your code to complete the survey online is a lower case “f” followed by your child’s 9-digit identification number, also known as the (osis number). If you need help, you can reach out to Ms. Mendez, Parent Coordinator.
 
PARENT WORKSHOPS 2025
NYC SCHOOL SURVEY ASSISTANCE
DATE: Every Tuesday and Wednesday in March
TIME: 8:15– 10:30 am
ROOM: 104 - Cafeteria
Each family who attends and completes a survey will receive a FREE raffle ticket for a chance to win school gear.
 
AWARDS ASSEMBLY
The March Awards Assemblies will be held during the month of March in the auditorium. We will only be inviting parents of the students receiving awards due to limited space in the auditorium. The Award Assemblies schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, March 11
Grade 4 - Period 2 (8:55 - 9:45)
Grade 5 - Period 3 (9:50-10:40)
Grade 3 - Period 6 (12:35-1:25)
Wednesday, March 12
Grade 1 - Period 2 (8:55 - 9:45)
Grade 2 - Period 6 (12:35-1:25)
Monday, March 17
Grade K- Period 3 (9:50-10:40)
 
MARCH MADNESS - READING CONTEST
Starting March 10th, PS 86K’s March Madness reading contest will begin. Every Monday, students will receive a reading log for the week and will return it completed the following Monday. A completed reading log includes:
Reading everyday Monday - Sunday
Parent signature every day
Reading Response(s)
Students can read physical books from home or their book baggies OR can go online to MyOn and read. Reading logs should be filled out for reading time done at home only. Extra points will be given to students with the highest MyOn reading minutes.
