"NUTRITION"
P.S. 86K, in connection with the Parent Coordinator, invite you to attend a series of nutrition workshops that will be given here at P.S. 86K. These workshops will be facilitated by Cynthia Fuoyolle from Cornell University Cooperative Extension / Nutrition Program. There are eight nutrition workshops in total. Each workshop is two hours long. You will prepare nutritious and delicious recipes and taste new foods. Those parents who come to at least six sessions will receive a certificate from Cornell University. The first session will be on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The following sessions will take place as follows:

APPLYING FOR KINDERGARTEN
The kindergarten application process opened on December 5, 2023. Parents still have until January 18, 2024, to apply. There are three ways in which you can apply for kindergarten. They are as follows:
- Online at mySchools.nyc
- By phone (718) 935-2009 Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm
- Family Welcome Center - District 32 is located at 1665 St. Marks Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11237.
Please note there is some information needed to apply.
- Child’s name, date of birth
- Parent /guardian name, address, telephone number, email address
- Information on any other siblings who will be in grades K-5 next year, including name, date of birth, current school, grade and OSIS number
- If your child is currently attending Pre-K, you must indicate the school
- The school you’re applying for district, borough, and school (for example: (32K086) in order of your preference, you can apply to as many as 12 schools.
- Child’s primary language
Please be advised that this is NOT REGISTRATION. You will be advised in writing from the enrollment office if your child has been accepted to P.S. 86K or any other school you apply to for kindergarten. Once you receive this letter, you need to call the school to make an appointment. The secretary will then advise you of what documentation you will need for registration. Registration will take place in May 2024. We will send out notices at that time.
